SIGMA LABS

A SMALL THANKS.

The work year is slowly winding down, which means STASIS can really start to pick up. 😉 Ive been in development for around a year now (I’m still not sure if thats long or short…), and the game has both stayed true to the original vision, and changed drastic direction in that time.

I gotta admit that I never thought it would get the following it has. To everyone who has signed up to the mailing list (I do get the addresses! I haven’t sent out any mailers, because I don’t want to bombard you guys with useless crap), commented on the blog, or sent me an email, I can only thank you guys (and girls).

The next few weeks are going to be quite exciting. Im formulating a complete plan for STASIS, complete with a tentative release date. There is still a TON of work to do, but I think it will be worth it!

SOUND DESIGN.

Ive been doing a lot of work on the Sound Design for the game-taking my inspiration from Sci-Fi’s of the60’s, 70’s, and (especially) the 80’s. I was just listening to Star Trek The Motion Picture last night, and I swear I got goose bumps from the sounds alone. Even the voices have a specific value to them.

When I compare that to the current wave of sound design, its just a let down. It seems every Sci-Fi needs that Transformers ‘Shweeeeep Schtiiiic ‘Fwathump’ sound. You know the one….

In Transformers it worked. In everything else….meh.

SIGMA LABS

And here is a WIP of a new(ish) area. This is still very early in the design process for this area, and since this shot it has changed. But I cant give you guys everything…. 😉

Sigma Labs are the harvesting labs. They are responsibilie for harvesting organs, skin (yes-I know its an organ!), bone, and fluids. The idea is that its a meat packing plant, with medical beds.

Ive really been pushing the interactivity in the rooms, so you can do things like knock over the IV stands, and poke the dead bodies. Nothing game specific, but just awesome. 😉
